Christmas Season [in summary]

Christmastime - a celebration of our Savior's birth. A time to remember the miracle of what happened in the lives of Mary and Joseph which in turn has given us a HOPE, JOY and most of all a Redeemer in our lives here on Earth. Especially having had a baby now, I even more reflect on how it was for Mary and Joseph! What faith they had through such an unknown time in their lives. A beautiful thing to reflect on...

Here is Ruth looking the Nativity scene over. By the end of the week she knew each character - Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the angles, the camel, sheep, wise men and donkey.

This picture is hard to see, but this was our attempt at decorating for Christmas. The decision was quickly made to just put a few things here and there. In this picture she is going crazy over a red bead garland that would go on a Christmas tree --- that is if we were brave enough to put up a tree. I can only imagine what that would have been like. Maybe next year...

Two days before Christmas, Ruth came down with a fever, followed by a stuffy nose and all the other 'stuff' that comes with a cold.... boo. So, we lounged around the house trying to get her fever to go down. It was amazing as you could tell she didn't feel 100%, but she sure acted herself for the most part. Reading her books, pestering the dog and cat and playing with her toys.


You know how most kids hate the snot sucking thing --- not Ruth! She doesn't really care for it when it needs to be done, but when you are not looking , she finds it and takes matters into her own hands. Ha! I'm pretty sure this is not normal. I will have to mention it to her doctor next time we have a checkup.

Christmas day, Ruth's fever was gone, and we were all feeling much better (the calm before the storm), so we did make a trip down to Tri-Cities for a quick visit with family. Matt also had to work the two days after Christmas, so we packed up the entire family and headed down.

Here Shippin' with a waaaaay too snug Santa suit. She basically couldn't move in it, we were all almost on the floor laughing because as long as their was food around she didn't really seem to mind! Crazy dog.
